Abstract

In growing patients with moderate to severe skeletal class III malocclusion can be corrected with orthopedic growth modification appliances such as face mask and reverse pull headgear. This case report presents the successful use of petit type facemask without palatal expansion for correction of maxillary retrognathism in an 8 year old female. The aim of nonsurgical correction of dentofacial discrepancies is to achieve harmonious occlusal relationships and provide a benevolent environment for normal growth.
